Title, Legal Disclaimer

This is a 2 part tip of the day.  Part one is how to add Disclaimers to every outgoing email in Office 365.  Part two is how to configure that disclaimer so that you only include one of them in any email thread.  If you’re currently forcing your users to add disclaimers to their signature line, or don’t use them at all, you might be better off to add them at a company level rather than user level.  Now I won’t think about how legally useful these disclaimers are, I just know Lawyers started them.  Read on for the details. A simple question often asked, sometimes faked.  Last year I ran into 3 separate instances where a criminal was sending a request just like that to a processor.  What time is this closing? A simple question that can have costly consequences.  It can start a conversation with a trained con artist a busy processor can fall trap to.

Select Apply Template throws Infinite Loop detected error

error window Apply Template Failed, Infinite loop detectedWhen applying a templete in SoftPro Select, an Apply Template Failed error appears showing a couple Infinite loop detected errors. This can be caused by quite literally just about anything. It is coming from either a formula or Iron Python rule attempting to access a part of the file that doesn’t quite exist yet.

Classic 15 Calendar Robot

imageThe concept of the Closing Calendar or the Book has fascinated me since I was first shown a real “Book” in the early 1990’s.  I’ve created calendar tools for ProForm clients ever since. At this point, most companies have adopted some sort of electronic shared calendar, those who have experienced our fully automated solutions save money on every closing.

The ProForm Calendar Robot is an automatic tool that maintains a closing calendar by watching the ProForm database.  The ProForm user does nothing other than set the Settlement Date and Time in ProForm.  When the changes are saved, the Robot quickly notices and updates a shared calendar.

Vizio SV470XVT1A and Harris TS22 Butt Set, a Good start to the Year.

The last 2 days have been technically a fantastic year.  It started with 2 Harris Butt Sets and ended with a fixed Vizio 47″ TV.  I had recently failed a cap replacement on an  Insteon device, so my electronics repair road was on a bad path.  It felt good to relive my roots.

 

The TV a Vizio SV470XVT1A was an interesting one, it intermittently displayed video, the back lights always worked.  Lots of documented voltages finally lead to a voltage regulator U10 on the daughter board, 0101-4072-0044 which showed a pin hanging at .4 mv when the set failed, and came up to 1.1 mv when it worked.  What a deal, the daughter board is near the cheapest one in the unit.  Amazon had a seller with a used one for $8.

It’s IronPython time, looping up the world in Select

imageI’ve played a bit with IronPython, tonight I decided to dive in a little bit more. Previously I wrote about some tools I built to deal with a couple multiples, like Lots or ParcelID. We created a single line call that returns a properly formatted string dealing with singles or multiple entries. It is called on a line like this:
