    A simple question often asked, sometimes faked.  Last year I ran into 3 separate instances where a criminal was sending a request just like that to a processor.  What time is this closing? A simple question that can have costly consequences.  It can start a conversation with a trained con artist a busy processor can fall trap to.

  • Single Sided Transfers Error (SPWin-UNDEFINED)

    clip_image001A client recently upgrading from Standard 12.2 to Classic 15 HF3 had some single sided transfers that needed cleaned up in ProTrust. They were in pretty good shape with 110 of them in a 10 year database. As they were cleaning up the error message Unable to match the selected transactions. Ledger locking failed started appearing.

  • ProTrust PTWIN-130 Error window

    imageToday’s fun call of the day was related to ProTrust having a Ledger locked for editing. The Error (PTWIN-130) is displayed when someone attempts to add a transaction to the ledger.   No one knew who or why, but it’s been like that for days.  There’s a right way and a wrong way to fix this particular problem.  We’ll talk about the wrong way first.

  • Creating a Transfer Ledger in ProTrust

    Today we are switching attorneys at a Title Company I support.  Rather than printing individual checks to the attorney, we want to group those checks into a monthly disbursement.

    SoftPro will automatically create the initial ledger however, in an efficient operation there are lookup tables that need updated, and maybe templates. The automatic creation of the ledger also causes an informational window to show up asking if a new ledger should be created.  Personally I love this, but it can overwhelm users.
