SoftPro Select Set Custom Field Order
With SoftPro Select it would be nice to put some custom fields at the top of the list, or to change the order of Custom Fields. I hear it's a feature that's coming down the pike, I'm just not sure how long the pike is. So today I decided to figure out if I could control the order of Custom Fields in SoftPro Select. Turns out I can, read on and you will be able to also.
Sonos PlayBar and Play:1 Speakers
Sometimes the UPS delivery driver is akin to Santa Claus. Today he brought a Sonos Playbar and a set of Play:1 speakers. It was a short trip to this moment, the other day I fired up the old dying Kenwood receiver and found my Infinity speakers had finally dry rotted to failure. My early carrier was in the hi-fi world at a number of shops the best being a store in Pittsburgh called Opus One. There were audio freaks there, they were talented, we did things like draw blue and/or black lines around the outside of CD's to make them sound better, it absorbed rather than reflecting refracted laser light reducing error correction. There was directional wire, stuff that's created in a way to supposedly allow electrons flow one way better than the other. It all seemed to matter, it was interesting to test the ear of people who could hear these things while learning how to listen. Anyhow I digress, but it's a part of what brought me to Sonos.
Ohio Conveyance Fee Forms, Do you use a typewriter?
Ohio SoftPro ProForm users can start saving money today by automatically printing the Ohio DTE Form 100, Real Property Conveyance Fee Statement of Value and Receipt directly from ProForm Standard and Enterprise. This form hits the checkboxes the same every time, X in a box. There are no micro feeds, or whiteout necessary when the Conveyance form is printed like the HUD. Even better many Ohio Counties are now accepting computer generated forms on plain white paper, some others require it to be printed on carbonless forms which need an available paper tray or more easier an old printer. We recommend testing white paper first even if the starter list we provide says otherwise.
Secure Email…Not really
So the other day a client was having difficulty opening a package from a lender. Don't we all have a package horror story. This one is short and has nothing to do with elynx, Swiftview, DigitalDocs, Rdoc, or any of the applications that need installed to print. The email had the typical link, I clicked fully expecting to see a login prompt and low and behold up came the document.
Slam the CFPB redefines MSA
A couple days ago the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) reached a settlement with Lighthouse Title in Michigan over Marketing Services Agreements (MSA). It included Lighthouse paying $200K fine, ending all MSA’s, and tracking any exchange of “things of value” worth more than $5 keeping a five years history. Possibly explosive, links to more detail in this short article.
ProForm Emergency System, when, now, what, how…
This past weekend was an interesting one. Not only was it my birthday, we had an Enterprise 6.3 client's SBS 2008 R2 server have 3 of 6 drives in a RAID 5 array in a pending error status. There was serious talk of a punctured array. It's a small business so it not only was it the sole active directory provider, it also managed DNS, DHCP, and SQL servers not to forget File and Print service. The IT staff was busy rebuilding arrays, drives, and restoring backups, time estimates for data transfers were given in half days. About a day and a half and this job should be complete. Then it failed, another day long attempt and failure had the calls out to put Option "D" in place.
