There was a change in functionality from Standard 12.2 to Classic 15 HF3 where the DS Fields for most 800 and 1300 section fields no longer fill out the Lender's name in the associated To: field. Enterprise 6.3 also works this way, so it's likely a design feature. To a converted Standard user it appears to be an issue. A possible workaround is to put a single entry lookup table on the DS fields so that the user could quickly enter the information. The first interesting obstacle was pressing F9 in a drop down list results in no response from ProForm. Why would they expect someone to need a lookup table on a short drop down list. Single Sided Transfers Error (SPWin-UNDEFINED)
A client recently upgrading from Standard 12.2 to Classic 15 HF3 had some single sided transfers that needed cleaned up in ProTrust. They were in pretty good shape with 110 of them in a 10 year database. As they were cleaning up the error message Unable to match the selected transactions. Ledger locking failed started appearing.
A look at Iron Python in Select
I've been playing around a little bit with Iron Python in SoftPro Select. Setting fields, doing validation, learning some boundaries and how it fits in. It was time for a real life example so I chose the EscrowBriefLegal field. That seemed complex but simple.
ProForm Classic Rate Table Testing
From time to time our Rate tables need updated, which sometimes brings a pretty high stress level. Here is a method which will allow new underwriter rates to be applied to SoftPro ProForm Classic preventing the update from deleting all the current information. SoftPro distributes a .txt file which the lkupimex.exe utility uses to apply lookup table updates. How nice it is to test the new rates before everyone is using them.
New Machine, ProForm SQL doesn’t connect
ProForm can't find it's databases, an ODBC connectivity test passes, but when ProForm is started, it throws an error. The test system is a small network of Terminal Server and a few Windows 7 machines, a new Windows 7 64 bit machine was installed. ProForm Classic 12.2 is throwing a PFWIN-028 error message, cannot initialize databases. Starting ProForm as Administrator using this registry entry to allow drive mappings to occur works fine, but requires the user to click an extra dialog box on one computer but not the rest of the network.
SoftPro Users Conference 2014
The 2014 SoftPro Users Conference has come and gone. It was an exciting event with SoftPro Select and the combination of 360 with SoftPro Live taking the main stage. The Select feature set is growing with superb elements, global rules, unheard of automations, and a soon to be a 100% coverage API allowing developers to fully integrate with Select. It is faster, cleaner and more secure. The current API is robust covering over 90% of the system
CFPB Final Disclosure
It's OUT! The Final CFPB Disclosure has been released. Implementation deadline is August 1, 2015. That is a reasonable amount of time, so sit back, relax and read the 1888 pages. The Closing Disclosure and Loan Estimate are also there.
