A client mentioned that he didn't have any buttons when attempting to print a SoftPro ProForm Enterprise 6.2 report. I've seen those buttons move around before and never much cared at the time. Today it mattered, here's what I found
Crystal Reports, State Letter to State Name
From time to time I need a formula to convert a database stored state letter into a state name. Replace Search.StateLet with your database column. This formula is setup to work with a SoftPro ProForm Report.
Batteries AAA and AA
I've been into electronics for 40 years. The cost of batteries has had me try many different brands, and types. I use some rechargeable batteries, they are not always the best choice. For the battery sizes of AAA and AA, I look for a cost per battery of about a quarter. It is important to purchase Alkaline batteries at a minimum, don't get the cheaper, Heavy Duty batteries. They leak more, don't have the shelf life of an Alkaline, and product less power.
ProForm Enterprise County Lookup Table updates
Today a client asked if we could add $7.00 to the first page of all Mortgage Recording fees in the state of California. There are 58 counties in California, some of them have multiple entries for varying costs.
Velcro Wire Ties – you probably need this
Velcro wire ties are great, they are just way over priced. 10 ties for eight bucks is a typical cost. Yet I have Velcro ties for tomato plants which are pretty cheap. A 30 foot roll is a few bucks. I've been looking for cable ties that are made the same way. Finally I found someone packaging Velcro wire ties in an inexpensive package. These ties are great, they tear apart real nice, have a hole for a loop around a cable, and don't stick too tight. Velcro comes in many strengths, this connection is on the lighter side, quite right for a cable tie.
ProForm Field Code Finder
For years I've wanted to document all the field codes in a ProForm file. A while back, I decided to build a set. After much troubleshooting I got a system running that completed the job on a file in a bit over 24 hours constant processing.
Cradle for the baby
I built this cradle for our first born, it was taken from plans I found on the internet which was for a smaller almost doll sized cradle. I wanted one my daughter could keep for a while, this one has a standard 18 x 36" bed.
