SoftPro ProForm Reports Buttons disappear

imageA client mentioned that he didn't have any buttons when attempting to print a SoftPro ProForm Enterprise 6.2 report.    I've seen those buttons move around before and never much cared at the time.  Today it mattered, here's what I found

A fresh startup of ProForm on my main monitor works fine.

I should mention this computer's monitor configuration looks like this

image

1 = 1200x1920, 2 = 1280 x 1024, 3 = 1680x1050, 4 = 1024x768

On Monitors 2 and 3 the same window has no buttons

If you run into this issue pressing <Ctrl> Enter should get around the problem

Move it back to the main monitor and the buttons slide to the rightclip_image004

On the 4th monitor, it works fine, but is in a different position.

Moving back to the main monitor slides the buttons a little more.

Back to the 4th monitor and it’s moving right there too

I’ve seen other buttons move about, the arrow buttons on document selectors are two of them. This one seems to reset itself, I was unable to continue pushing the buttons right, they snapped back somewhat center and started walking right again when I concluded this test.

My guess is the buttons on the bottom of the form are setting their position based on the screen positioning remembered from its initial startup. As the application moves from one resolution to another the buttons move or disappear.  I used to change my default monitor to #2, start ProForm, then change my default monitor back to #1 to control how ProForm painted the screen.  It was most useful in ProDesign, to make the font bigger.

So if this happens to you, just fill out the form and press <Ctrl> Enter, that will press the OK button. Notice the OK button is a little darker, that different means <Ctrl> Enter will press that button, it works all over the place.
