The 2013 SoftPro Conference just ended. This year attendance showed the return trend to the levels that we’re accustom to seeing is moving along nicely. The general sessions filled a large room near it’s capacity. There were the usual Select and Classic courses tracks, with what I thought was a pretty even attendance to both tracks.
There are things that need checked after converting a database from Access to SQL with SoftPro Standard. I’ve been through a couple of these, there are things to watch out for. Once the data is converted and with each database showing no unfixed issued during the conversion process, there are some additional items that need done, or checked.
A client mentioned that he didn’t have any buttons when attempting to print a SoftPro ProForm Enterprise 6.2 report. I’ve seen those buttons move around before and never much cared at the time. Today it mattered, here’s what I found
For years I’ve wanted to document all the field codes in a ProForm file. A while back, I decided to build a set. After much troubleshooting I got a system running that completed the job on a file in a bit over 24 hours constant processing.
There are a few options for the SoftPro ProForm user to use a calendar. SoftPro has 2 methods of which the 360 send to Exchange method looks like the best. As far as I can tell it nicely sends closing information to a shared Exchange calendar for wide consumption. There is also a different calendaring package built into the program. Both of these solutions required too many clicks for my clients so ProCal was born. ProCal has been replaced with the Calendar Robot an even better tool which sends updates to Exchange.
SoftPro 360 displays an error “Application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy.” in System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission, mscorlib. This issue with Roaming Profiles can be solved by creating a SoftPro360.config file in the SoftPro Client Folder
SoftPro ProForm contains a series of Keyboard shortcuts to make using the application faster and easier. Some of them are normal Windows shortcuts, others do very specific ProForm functions.
